Abstract

This presentation proposes a reflection on the dialogues between Geography and the field of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). The exposition is divided into five sections. Initially, a brief overview is presented on the main contributions and political positions of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education Law, enacted in 2006 in Argentina, and the role that schools play in relation to it. Next, the current state of implementation of CSE in geography education is analyzed, and the results that demonstrate the incipient guarantee of this right are presented. In response to this challenge, the main contributions and theoretical-methodological perspectives of gender and sexuality geographies developed in the scientific field are described. In a fourth section, and with an eye toward one of the objectives of Comprehensive Sexuality Education, which establishes the transmission of precise, reliable, and up-to-date knowledge, examples are proposed that show the possible - but also necessary - dialogues between the scientific production of feminist geography, feminist movements, the sexual dissidence collective, and the field of Comprehensive Sexuality Education. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of establishing bridges between these areas to contribute to the teaching of geography from a Comprehensive Sexuality Education perspective. Finally, the challenges and questions posed by these dialogues are presented with the aim of reflecting on Comprehensive Sexuality Education policies.
